Using the [CODE] button...

But using [CODE] did not seem to 'keep' the indentation in the expanded 'preview' for posting Huh

Hmmm - works for me. CODE (encased in brackets) should be at the beginning of the script and /CODE at its end.  Same format as  HTML tags, but using brackets.  You can just type them in if you wish, and case doesn't matter.

The problem is that spaces are being honored, but tabs are not:

Code:
    5 spaces
  3 tabs

The Forum code seems to turn spaces in a code block into non-breaking spaces.

It would be better if a code block was wrapped with <pre>...</pre> or used  white-space:pre in the CSS

Ahh.  Well, the REBOL style guide says to use spaces, not tabs, so... ;-)

But anyway, if this forum can be tweaked to use tabs, the tabs should be set to equal four spaces.  Or, ideally, it'd convert the tabs to four spaces.
