REBOL customer base was dropping because a large number of people have already been here, seen something great, were genuinely interested in it, but found dealbreaking shortcomings and left again. But they saw something great, and that's the important part. They won't forget that. That's what will make them come back, when these dealbreakers go away. It doesn't make real sense to be obsessive about the current number of REBOL users, when the language will address so many issues and user complaints.
You know what ? I've been a customer since years and years, and the reason why I'm here is to say that's too long is too long and that if RT doesn't hurry, I'm sorry but as soon as the Ruby stuff things on .NET 3 is ready, I will go with Ruby ... unless Rebol can catch the train up. So wake up RT, it's not only about me, it's about all the silent guys who won't even bother to tell you what upset clients they have been. You didn't listen to your clients, you only listen to the small group of high tech rebol gurus who only care about making fun with what pleased them.

Please go use Ruby. Please. Spare yourself the pain of waiting and switch now. Then you can see how much or how little you miss REBOL afterwards. :-) If you are so anxious to use REBOL3 with the .NET pain, you will be back for it, like I said. So I don't really see what train there is to catch, unless everyone switches to quantum computing next year.

So I don't really see what train there is to catch, unless everyone switches to quantum computing next year. Yes we will. But don't forget I have invested my time and the time of my developers on Rebol also. I don't count on the tech gurus to improve anything but hope Carl is at the beginning of realizing he has to behave like an entrepreneur and take some distance with them and care more about his true clients: the "business user". He seems so: http://www.rebol.com/article/0343.html"There's been a lot of discussion about how to reshape the public image of REBOL - from not only the developer view, but also from the end user and business user views. Some of you talked about it in my blog comment section. I'm really interested in making this happen. " Go on Carl, don't forget the business ! Only that can sustain RT, or you will have to go Opensource and be crushed by the software deflation where software is worth 0$.
