Can't read clipboard

I must be doing something wrong but I can't read from the clipboard.  For example I have copied some text to the clipboard then tried this:

>> clip: read/lines clipboard://
** Access Error: Invalid port spec: clipboard://
** Near: clip: read/lines clipboard://

Any ideas?

Are you running /Core or /View? Clipboard support is only available on /View.
