i'v been offline for sometime and been looking around to see whats evolved and what not.
the most glaring omission im sorry to say seems to be
that the good rebol people, at least on the face of it
looking for days now, havent been busy writing the /view scripts to help the ordinary person do everyday things.
perhaps its just me but it seems that your average person
wants to be able to encode a tv feed or to, get better tools to help them manage p2p/torrent, and play with their
ISP given webspace in a simple way perhaps even put a
messageboard and such etc, my brains blitzed with trying to get users and coders to look at rebol to help them manage these tools and perhaps make new interesting ways to inteface them all together...............
why dont the rebol view tools exist to simply interface
with the likes of mencoder, recoder,
VLC mediaplayer/multicaster, and Azurus ?.
is it simply that noone's thought about makeing simple
GUI front ends for the above to try and get lots of people
looking at rebol/view as their first choice for a front end for their fave app that needs a Good looking GUI.
lots to say but im to tired right now to try and outline
my hopes and thoughts as to interfacing different popular
apps and perhaps even IF ITS POSSIBLE ?
a rebol/view Azurus clone BUT with multicasting capability
NOW that would be a first for a p2p/torrent app currently.
its my hope that these would be a good starting point

BUT then what incentive do them have to TRY rebol !!!!.
