problems reading email pop account

I'm unable to read my email pop account.

I know I have the correct pop server, user name, password, and domain.

typing at the console:

print read pop://user:password@mysite.com

gives me an error stating it can not connect to mysite.com.

When I use MS Outlook to retrieve mail I had to use as my user name: user@mysite.com. In other words, it required me to enter not just my user name but my email address. I do not know why but could this be the problem?

Seems your login name is you mail address.
