ftp error "Cannot open a dir port in direct mode" ?

I searched on internet and falled upon that:

a bit complex for me but overall does it mean ftp in rebol is bugged and must be patched to work ?

I would say no.  In general, REBOL/Core FTP works.  The ftp scheme is fairly complex and as Romano says, doesn't always work for all systems to all systems.

If you ever do find a problem, you know of at least one patch to try.
