I feel like such an idiot for posting to the 2.7.6 issues blog that rebgui is a problem .. often I just start RebView and hop to the console without thinking that I am not in CORE.
Perhaps RebGui should warn if it finds View loaded ... oh well ... I just don't have time to track down that sort of annoyance and get anything else done that needs doing ...

View is native to the REBOL binary and VID is always loaded, so RebGUI really can't do that test afaik. The community has access to the Viewtop source code, including the editor. So someone can probably fix this and we don't have to wait for RT. It is even requested in the editor source that we all try and make it better, and send potential changes back to RT. But as you said, it may come down to finding time.
