automating dialogs

I don't know low-level http details, but i would like to be able to programmatically login to web servers (HTTPS) and extract information from the pages displayed and/or update the pages.

Any tips on where to start?

HTTPS is only available in Rebol/Pro... so unless you purchase this version of Rebol, HTTPS is unavailable to you.
